what-to-memorize-for-mcat-banner Hi there! My name is Kat and I’m Magoosh’s MCAT expert. I've put together this guide to help you understand what you do and do not need to memorize on the MCAT.

What to Memorize? What Not to Memorize?

This Memorization Guide breaks down what you do need to memorize and what you don't need to worry about memorizing for each section of the MCAT.

Structure Your Study Time

It's important to think about how you are going to structure your study time. If we assume you are starting from scratch and have 3 months to study, here's what I'd recommend:

  • Month 1: 75% Content Review
  • Month 2: 75% Practice
  • Month 3: 75% Timed Practice (includes practice exams)

Tools for Memorization

We all have different learning styles so it's important to find the tools that work best for you. Here are some options:

1. Magoosh MCAT Flashcards

2. Alternatives to Flashcards: diagramming, post-its

3. Study guides you can begin using immediately
